01/25/2008   Main Steel Introduces New Specialty Tape Products

Main Steel has unveiled its new specialty products line created by its partner Permacel, a Nitto Denko company. The new line features products that will help solve problems and create new opportunities for its customers in the metals market. The newest products to be distributed by Main Steel include: Hyperjoint, a permanent adhesive tape which can eliminate the need for spot welding; Legetolex, a sound/vibration adhesive patch; and Nitohard, a structural reinforcement material. All three of these products, which debuted at the Fabtech and Metalcon shows the end of last year, have been praised by many in the fabrication and metals industry as great cost effective solutions. Both Hyperjoint H8000 and H9000 series, distributed in roll form, come in thicknesses ranging from .4 mm to 1.2 mm and various widths to fit any project need. The acrylic foam tape with double-sided adhesive, provides superior bonding strength, heat and weather resistance. Legetolex is a must have for any product with excess noise and vibration. It's peel and stick application makes it easy to use. Because it targets specific structural problem areas, it is far more cost effective then other sound/vibration dampeners that need to cover the full surface area to be as effective. And when it comes to structural problem areas, Nitohard is the solution. Main Steel knows the metal business. With the price of metal skyrocketing, the idea of a product that can reduce the gauge metal needed to do a job&is priceless. Used in the automotive industry for years, this epoxy foam tape is hardened with heat to create excellent reinforcement of thin gauge metal. Nitohard allows you to save money using thinner metal, but still have the strength of a heavier gauge in the areas that need it.
